Client dashboard
A live, read-only link to one property's results that a client opens with no account
A client asks what you are doing to make sure they show up in ChatGPT. The last report answered that for one period. The client dashboard answers it today.
A dashboard link is a link to one property's live data. The client opens it in a browser, with no account and no password, and reads the same sections an issued report carries, measured over the last 28 days. It keeps working until you revoke it.
Who can create one
- A team owner or admin creates, copies and revokes dashboard links. A member sees the property's overview and not the control.
- The property must be on a paid plan, or have been on one. No agency add-on is needed, so a brand can share its own dashboard with its board.
- A property that has never been on a paid plan cannot have one. It has the snapshot report and its share link instead.
Create a link
Open the property's overview
The dashboard link lives in the cover at the top of the overview. It isn't on the snapshot page.
Create the link and copy it
Each property holds one live dashboard link. Copy it and send it the way you send anything else to that client. Heading doesn't email it for you.
Open it yourself before the client does
The page shows today's figures, so read it first. A fall in visibility or a competitor you haven't mentioned yet is easier to explain before the client asks.
What the client sees
One page, one property, read live, drawn the way the rest of the product draws it: a cover naming the property and the period, four headline tiles, then the sections an issued report carries, under the same headings:
- Headline tiles: visibility over the period with the change against the previous period, citations, prompts tracked and platforms. Under them, one line states how many days and prompts the figures were measured over, and whether the prompt set changed during the period.
- AI visibility: the daily series, one line per platform, then each platform's average over the period with the strongest and weakest marked
- Competitors: the leaderboard, the brand's share of AI answers against the rivals AI names beside it
- Prompts: every measured question, how often AI named the brand when answering it, how many answers did, and the sentiment of those answers
- Cited sources: the domains AI cites when it answers about the brand, and the domains it cites only for competitors
- Perception: how AI depicts the brand: sentiment, the strongest quality, and the qualities the brand focuses on beside the ones the answers named most
- Agent readiness: how the site answered a fixed set of probes, and what each failed probe says to change
- Work completed: the tasks finished on the property during the period
- Business outcomes: visits, enquiries and revenue attributed to AI referrals, from the sources you connected
The period is the last 28 days, ending today. If the property has been on its plan for fewer than 28 days, the period starts on the day the plan began. When a full 28 days sits before the period, the page shows the change against those days as well.
A section with nothing to show says so, and says why, in place of the figures. A property with no analytics or lead source connected gets a Business outcomes section that says no source is connected. It never shows a zero, because a zero says nothing happened, and what is true is that nothing was measured.
Notes, the section of your own words on a report, is not on the dashboard. There is no draft to write them in.
A property whose plan has ended keeps its link. The dashboard shows the data collected until the day collection stopped. Four sections need a current paid plan: Competitors, Cited sources, Perception and Work completed. Each of them stays on the page under its heading and says its figures are not being collected for the property. The page names no plan and gives no reason beyond that.
What the client cannot see or do
- Sign in. There's no account behind the link, so there's nothing to sign in to.
- Reach the rest of the workspace. The page links nowhere: not to the overview, not to tasks, not to the agent workspace, not to billing.
- Change the period, filter by market, or pick a platform. The page has no controls.
- Open an individual answer. A prompt shows how often the brand was named, not what each platform said.
- See a list of issued reports, or open one.
- See your other clients, your other properties, or anything about your team.
The page carries no plan name and no price. What you pay Heading for the property isn't on it.
Dashboard, snapshot, report
Three links, three shapes. A dashboard is a report that moves, and a report is a dashboard that stopped.
| Snapshot link | Dashboard link | Report link | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it shows | One day's picture of a free property | The last 28 days of a paid property, read live | One period, as it stood when the report was issued |
| When the figures move | When a newer snapshot lands | As new answers are collected. Not at all once the plan ends | Never |
| Who reads it | A stakeholder or a prospect | A client, between reports | A client, as a record of one period |
A property holds each of these separately. Revoking one never touches the others.
Manage the link
- One live link per property. To replace it, revoke it and create another. The new link is a different address, and the old one stays dead.
- It doesn't expire. It keeps working until you revoke it.
- Revoking is immediate and cannot be undone. Anyone opening a revoked link sees the same page as for an address that never existed.
- Revoking a dashboard link touches nothing else. The property's snapshot link and its report links stay as they were, and revoking those leaves the dashboard link alone.
- Deleting the property deletes its links.
The address
If your team has white-label branding set up, the link is on your own domain: the subdomain Heading gave you, or the custom domain you connected. Nothing in the address or on the page names Heading. Without branding, the link is on the Heading domain and the page carries Heading's framing.
If the agency add-on lapses, the link keeps working. What changes is the frame: the page shows Heading's framing while the add-on is inactive.
Printing
The client can print the page from the browser. It prints as a clean document, one section after another, with the page breaks set for paper.
Treat it like a password
Anyone holding the link can read that property's data. There's no second check: no password, no sign-in, no expiry.
- Send it to the people at the client who should see it, and nobody else.
- Revoke it when the engagement ends.
- If it's gone somewhere it shouldn't have, revoke it and create another. The old link stops working at once.
Heading doesn't count views on a dashboard link, so it can't tell you who opened it or when.
